About this template

Self-Directed Therapy Series is designed with the purpose of empowering and equipping individuals with evidence-based tools and knowledge commonly utilized in therapy.

Feeling my Emotions is a one-page resource that provides clear, concise basic information about Emotions and an editable Self-Monitoring tool. Self-monitoring is a classic Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) technique that is often used in therapy to facilitate personal insight and growth.

The goal of this tool is to train individuals to be more detailed in describing their feelings. This practice can help us learn to identify or recognise our emotions with more accuracy. It will then inform us about the significance of our immediate situation, to work out what we should do next, and to indicate what, if anything, we should do about changing how we feel.

📌 What’s in it for me?:

✅Have autonomy over your emotions
✅Learn to identify your feelings beyond ‘I’m okay, alright, fine, good’.
✅Learn to identify patterns (i.e., unhelpful thinking style, automatic responses, unhelpful coping strategies) in your thoughts, feelings and behaviour.
✅ Understand (not just with our minds) how our thoughts affect our feelings and behaviours.
✅ A guided, recommended plan that walks you through this worksheet.

Best for:
- Individuals who find it challenging to identify emotions
- Individuals who wants to expand their emotional vocabulary and improve emotional regulation skills.
- Individuals who wants to explore deeper and long-term emotions that might be affecting you.
