The Core Values Template is designed to help you uncover what truly matters to you, so you can align your decisions and actions with your deepest beliefs. By walking you through a simple four-step process, this template will guide you toward clarity about your most important values. Here's how it works:
1. Identify What’s Important
You’ll begin by looking at a list of core values. Your job here is to pick all the values that resonate with you—those that feel important in your life. There’s no need to overthink it at this stage, just go with your gut and select as many as you like.
2. Sort Your Priorities
Next, you’ll take a closer look at the values you’ve chosen. Now it’s time to be a bit more critical—ask yourself which values are really at the center of your life. You’ll remove any that feel less relevant and focus on the ones that truly reflect what you care about.
3. Pick Your Top 10:
From the values that remain, you’ll narrow it down to your top 10. These should be the values that guide your actions, motivate you, and influence the way you live. You might have to make some tough decisions, but this step is key to discovering your core values.
4. Refine to Your Top 5 and Top 3:
Finally, you’ll further reduce your list to your top 5, and then your top 3. These are your core values—the ones that truly define you and what you stand for. They will become the foundation for how you set goals, make decisions, and live your life.
Journaling Prompts:
Throughout the process, you’ll be encouraged to reflect on each value you choose. Using the journaling prompts provided, you’ll think about why each value matters to you and how living by it could positively impact your life.
By the end of this exercise, you’ll have a clear understanding of the values that are most important to you, helping you make more aligned and intentional choices every day. This is your chance to reconnect with who you are at your core and live a life that reflects your true self.
