ABOUT THIS TEMPLATE
Notion is a great app that lets you build anything you can imagine and customize it to your needs. However, this open flexibility can make it difficult to organize and develop your system effectively. Proper organization is crucial since Notion workspaces can accumulate large amounts of data that become unwieldy over time. The PARA Method has been brought up many times with many different Notion templates associated with the philosophy. It makes sense as at the PARA Method’s core are flexibility and maintainability in a minimalist approach. However, creating a good PARA Organization in Notion can be quick difficult at times.
With how databases are designed, it is hard to simply move around your pages without removing the metadata associated with them. This brings up problems when you have built sophisticated systems and want to change them. One of the biggest key philosophies of the PARA method is that information is supposed to flow through your system depending on how your relationship changes with it over time. Hobbies that we have developed eventually turn into jobs (Area to Project), Projects and the elements we have developed for them will eventually be resources for us in the future (Projects to Resources), Our resources can ignite a new project (Resources to Projects). There is also the Archives, All of our knowledge that we have developed but is not currently referenced or active in our areas are projects. Being able to move around your information is crucial for the longevity of your second brain.
This Template was created to help foster this sustainable approach, not just for today’s projects, but for the changed vision in 5 years.
