Academic Writing Diary
About this template
The idea behind this diary template is that to develop good writing habits and to keep improving, it is important not to just plan but also to record your progress. In a way, keeping a diary is more important than planning or outlining. The diary has two components:
1. Table to record all writing and activities related to it
2. Table to tally up activities and display a nice tracking summary of hours spent writing and the number of writing sessions
There are six different activities that can be recorded and they can be added directly to the table or triggered by buttons which add the current date and mark them as completed. The activities are defined to take into account all the different components of the writing process:
1. Writing
2. Editing
3. Planning / outlining
4. Process review
5. Reading / research
6. Tool set up
